【聯合報／蘇詠智】Horn antenna 香港影壇在1980年代流行的是都會喜劇或是成龍式動作片，俊男美女掛帥的浪漫愛情電影已經被認為「老土」、「過時」，連帶在被港片征服的台灣，文藝愛情片的行情也一落千丈，連曾經是代表巨星的林青霞、秦祥林、秦漢等都必須轉型。出人意表的是，居然有唯美派的文藝片在香港異軍突起、賣座突破千萬港幣，引起台灣一堆片商爭購發行權，這部片就是改編自香港著名女作家亦舒原著的「玫瑰的故事」。 提起華人區最知名的言情小說女王，台灣首推瓊瑤，香港則絕對是亦舒，亦舒來自個大家庭、本姓倪，科幻小說名家倪匡正是她的親哥哥，她很年輕就憑出色的文筆獲得重用，替著名的報刊、雜誌擔任娛樂記者，見過一堆大牌紅星，之後曾赴英國留學，返港後又做過編劇、新聞處官員、大飯店公關等，人生十分多采多姿。她筆下的男女感情並非建築在雲裡霧裡的空中樓閣，角色說話、處世大都現實世故，讀來自有一種與眾不同的快感。「玫瑰的故事」，顧名思義，講述美貌動人的黃玫瑰，雖然追求者不斷，卻經歷情傷而走過滄桑，女主角的分量極重，又需要有亮眼、迷人、從年輕到中年都極令人心動的魅力，除非最風靡影壇的女星，很難勝任，因此搬上大銀幕後由誰來扮演，自然是各方好奇的焦點。

當年的香港，浪漫文藝片並不看好，就算有亦舒名著的號召，也不見得能讓片商充滿信心。最早傳出要拍「玫瑰的故事」，是演而優則製片的徐楓，她的湯臣公司將與其他單位合作拍攝這部影片，相中在影壇紅得發紫的鍾楚紅，鍾楚紅美麗奪目，那時又正年輕卻不失性感、成熟的韻味，確實是許多人心目中完美的「黃玫瑰」。但她自己竟然曾表示，林青霞可能更適合來扮演。林青霞那時事業重心已漸漸移到香港，算是台灣女星西進後發展最成功者之一，明星丰采並未比在台灣拍攝愛情文藝片時黯淡，演技又變得更老練，只是年紀較鍾楚紅稍長，青春的感覺稍缺一些。

正當媒體都在注意鍾楚紅接洽演出「玫瑰的故事」，此時導演定的是香港名影評人舒琪，男主角人選從周潤發、陳百強、張國榮等傳了一輪， 之後出現意外的發展，湯臣並沒有成功談下「玫瑰的故事」版權，由拍完「少女日記」的楊凡洽談成功，接下來主角人選就有異動，一度還差點真的要改成林青霞，剛巧她與秦漢傳舊情復燃，倘若彼此能再攜手，絕對是個噱頭，所以楊凡也不排除林青霞搭檔秦漢。其實林青霞在「玫瑰的故事」作者亦舒眼中，曾經是她心目中最美麗的女星，數度在文章中表達對林青霞的崇拜、仰慕，且她並非林青霞紅遍台港、東南亞後才被其巨星魅力征服，早在林青霞為了電影處女作「窗外」赴港宣傳，第一次與亦舒見面，她就留下超深刻的印象。 亦舒在文章中描述，自己本來就要到英國念書、行李都還沒整理好，萬般不情願一大早從香港島的家中過海到啟德機場接一位台灣來的新星，雖然早先已在試片室看過「窗外」，覺得林青霞很清秀很孤傲，心中仍是對這被指派的採訪充滿怨氣，只是礙於顏面不得發作。結果一見到林青霞走出機場，一端詳之下，頓時改變心意，感到不虛此行，從此成為忠實的霞迷，只覺得林青霞的漂亮不在五官之間，而是一切皆盡善盡美，即便日後又見到好些絕世美人，仍覺得林青霞最美，慶幸華人娛樂圈好歹有個林青霞。

如此美麗的林青霞，扮演亦舒筆下的黃玫瑰，應該是沒得挑剔了吧？但楊凡多年後撰文寫道，自己問過亦舒，該找誰演黃玫瑰最好，她只告訴他一個名字：張曼玉，而且強調張曼玉不管演技如何，光是造型做好、站在鏡頭下，就能讓觀眾看得目不轉睛。那時的張曼玉，才20出頭，仍有可愛的小虎牙，是個標準的偶像美女，接到的角色難度都不算高，也沒人看出她有成為演技派的潛力，楊凡其實和張曼玉也曾有一段緣分，原來她剛從英國回香港，一面在連卡佛百貨童裝部服務，兼差當模特兒，一次被指派到楊凡的攝影工作室面試，楊凡一講這是要拍泳裝，張曼玉直接拒絕、表示自己不拍泳裝，就頭也不回離開。楊凡愣了一下，對她留下深刻印象，推薦施南生這個女孩，新藝城沒有把握住機會，張曼玉後來參加港姐選美，得到亞軍與最上鏡獎，自然而然簽進TVB與關係企業邵氏。 楊凡被亦舒點名張曼玉，也就找了張曼玉，3人碰面時，亦舒極力說服張曼玉接下黃玫瑰這角色，張曼玉到最後願意點頭，只要求片中的床戲、吻戲，她必須在「非主動」的立場。張曼玉那時表示合約、片酬她自己同意，簽了字就可以，楊凡為了禮貌起見，還是打了通電話給邵氏方逸華，方逸華坦言有很多人找張曼玉，她的片酬談得太低，要求加5萬港幣，差點楊凡就要換角，最後在各方好友的建議下，忍痛接受給張曼玉加價，男主角原本敲定周潤發演玫瑰的哥哥、劉德華演與玫瑰有感情的家明，因為後者沒能談妥，索性兩個角色都由前者擔綱。

「玫瑰的故事」紅遍香港，消息立刻傳到台灣，嘉禾等3家公司在爭搶，最後被台灣的學者影業給買下，安排在暑假黃金檔上映，主打年輕學生和情侶。 接下來又出現新的難題，港片當時在台上映一定是國語配音的版本，有時主題曲也連帶會換成國語版，倘若廣東歌沒有一併灌錄國語的版本，可能就會找新的國語歌來取代。「玫瑰的故事」港版主題曲是由甄妮演唱的「最後的玫瑰」，專門為片子打造，在香港的反應很好。甄妮在三廳愛情片最風靡全台的1970年代就是主題曲天后之一，本來若是「最後的玫瑰」由她重唱成國語版，自然是完美的安排，哪知道電影公司談妥和飛碟唱片合作，為「玫瑰的故事」打造新的國語版插曲，因此換成黃鶯鶯一人獻唱的多首歌取代，她的專輯「賭徒」順理成為「玫瑰的故事」國語版原聲帶，其中「留不住的故事」獲選為主題曲。

在「玫瑰的故事」正式在台上映前，已先透過黃鶯鶯淒美的歌聲、搭配片中浪漫唯美的畫面，抓住了女學生和情侶的注意，上映後票房還不差，電影原聲帶也大熱賣，「留不住的故事」至今仍讓人難忘，但楊凡之後修復了「玫瑰的故事」，還找了謝君豪、蔡少芬重新為男女主角配音，國語版卻極難再尋，「留不住的故事」也只能成為資深台灣觀眾的回憶了。
