Horn antenna根據媒體報導，蘋果正計劃為AirPods加入即時語言翻譯功能，這讓用戶可以突破語言障礙，獲得更佳的溝通體驗。根據消息人士透露，新功能將作為AirPods 軟體升級的一部分，並與蘋果即將發布的 iOS 19 綁定，預定將在今年稍晚推出。
據了解，AirPods的即時翻譯主要是透過iPhone來處理不同語言的對話。例如英語使用者在與一個用西班牙語交談的人溝通時，iPhone 會將西班牙語的對話翻譯成英語，並透過 AirPods 將其轉述成英語。然後，英語使用者的回答將被翻譯成西班牙語，再透過 iPhone播放。
蘋果在為AirPods 添加即時翻譯功能的進展，稍微落後於其他對手。谷歌在2017年將類似的功能引入第一款Pixel Buds，隨後在2022年將其擴展到Pixel Buds Pro中。Meta與Humane等公司也嘗試利用穿戴式裝置進行即時翻譯。
